“The Brownells, American Rose Pioneers”
—This program will explore the Brownells – Walter Brownell and his wife Josephine and later their sons – trailblazers who hybridized and sold winter hardy and disease resistant roses throughout the United States from the small seaside town of Little Compton, Rhode Island, from the 1930s through the 1960s.

Mike and Angelina own RoseSolutions, a landscape consulting company; they are certified American Rose Society Master Rosarians and consult for municipal and private rose gardens. Mike is an accredited ARS horticultural rose judge. They are accomplished garden writers and co-founders and also past presidents of the Rhode Island Rose Society.
