Fall River Line Washcloth
You will want to keep this Tiny Tuesday handy once traveling resumes!
Still sealed in its original cellophane package is a knitted washcloth, dating to the 1930s. Washcloths such as this was provided to every guest who traveled on The New England Steamship Company’s Fall River Line. According to the packaging, the San-KNIT-ary Wash Cloth was “sealed [in a] germ-proof packet…ready to use without first washing” allowing for guests to use the cloth in any messy situation.
The Fall River Line ran from 1846 to 1937, leaving memories – and mementos – with those who traveled on her elegant steamships.
