Alice was the daughter of Frank Leonard Fish (1848-1916) and Sarah Rebecca [Chase] Fish (1850-1936).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Alice was born in Taunton, Massachusetts, and resided in both Brookline and Watertown before moving to Fall River in 1922, where she resided the remainder of her life. Well-educated, she attended the Taunton High School and Dana Hall School, in Wellesley. A clubwoman, she was involved in social and philanthropic affairs, and was an active member of the FRHS, joining the organization shortly after arriving in the city; she became a member of the board of directors n 1938, and served until her death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Mail delivery at the time was twice daily, in addition to special delivery \u2026 amazing that this tiny missive did not get lost! Unfortunately, someone long ago attached cellophane tape to the envelope, which will have to be sent to a conservator for removal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">This example is one of the tiniest pieces of posted mail in the FRHS collection.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What teeny #tinytuesday for such a grand announcement!
