The portrait is watercolor on cream glass with a gilt and light pink velvet frame. Though the artist is unidentified, the portrait dates to 1871.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Miss Caroline Slade Brayton was the eldest of Hezekiah Anthony Brayton (1832-1908) and Caroline Elizabeth [Slade] Brayton&#8217;s (1837-1928) 10 children! Caroline was a well-known socialite who was active in clubs, philanthropic affairs, and who served on numerous boards for charitable organizations in Fall River. Though unmarried, Caroline lived an exciting life; she traveled extensively and was highly educated.
