They were manufactured in Germany by the Meissen Factory, and dates to the mid-19th century. The decoration is in a moulded pattern of overlapping scallop shells, hand painted in gilt.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The gorgeous set was used by Mrs. Robert Knight Remington [Elizabeth Allen Thatcher] (1832-1911), while she resided in the house. The Remington family owned 451 Rock Street from 1869 to 1878!
