These tiny gold bells adorn a late 19th century stocking, the only one in our collection. Christmas stockings were a commonplace tradition by the Victorian era, usually filled with small trinkets, fruits, or candy.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The red and blue felt stocking was handmade for Richard Curtis Brigham (1895-1974) by his two aunts in 1897.
