{"id":139,"date":"2023-01-20T20:06:41","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T20:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lizzieborden.org\/TimeTravel\/?p=139"},"modified":"2023-02-07T20:09:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T20:09:00","slug":"what-lives-they-lived","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fallriverhistorical.org\/TimeTravel\/2023\/01\/20\/what-lives-they-lived\/","title":{"rendered":"What Lives They Lived?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week while I was researching through the newspaper microfilm for obituaries and funeral announcements, I happened upon an article titled: \u201cWoman\u2019s Funeral Held, Was 105 Years Old.\u201d I thought with the recent passing of Sister Andre this past Tuesday, who was 118 and the world\u2019s oldest known person, this article is more relevant than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Tekla Nienajadlo n\u00e9e Przybyla \u2013 widow of Antoni \u2013 passed away on December 6, 1955 and was survived by her four stepdaughters and stepson. Mrs Nienajadlo was, according to the Fall River Herald News, \u201cbelieved to have been Fall River\u2019s oldest resident.\u201d The article goes on to explain that she \u201cwas born in Poland in October 1850 and lived in Fall River 50 years.\u201d She is interred at Notre Dame Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>It is truly remarkable to think about what these women must have experienced, and the technological changes they witnessed, throughout their long lives.<\/p>\n<p>Does it not make one wonder.
